Our principal campaign has been to help the people who have been displaced by the violence in the conflict in Darfur, Sudan. Since hostilities commenced in 2003, hundreds of thousands have been killed and millions have been forced from their homes in a genocide, first of guns and now of attrition. The Human Promise has spread the message of the plight of the Darfuri people at many of its events. Recently, we made a donation of $10,000 to UNICEF to fund the construction of a well in an Internally Displaced Persons' Camp in Southern Sudan. This well will transform the lives of many people in the area, especially women and girls who usually must walk many miles at great personal risk to get water every day.
