The Chapters Program is an initiative focused on empowering young adults to make a positive influence in the world they live in. Organized into small groups, members plan and execute their own events from beginning to end, with as little or as much help from the larger organization as they wish. By helping youth turn enthusiasm into tangible success, we hope to inspire them to continue working for peace and justice while they acquire tools, experience and leadership skills through hands-on experience.
The Program is set up in such a way that, while every group makes their own planning decisions and organizes themselves and their events, the Board of Directors, and particularly the Director of Chapters, are always very accessible and follow the entire process from a distance, offering suggestions and a helping hand where needed. While work groups – Chapters – are autonomous in their projects, the rest of the Organization – as well as other Chapters – are always on hand to offer assistance, or resources which may not otherwise be available to a group of that size. This allows the Chapter to run smoothly, avoiding bureaucracy, while still having access to resources available only to a larger organization.
It is important to look within your own passions when looking for inspiration - many of our past fundraisers have been based on our own members' hobbies and interests!
